MOSS SIDE FARM

Moss Side Farm is a traditional Lakeland Hill Farm.  Situated in the south West corner of the Lake District in the beautiful  Woodland Valley.  Renowned for its stunningly beautiful views, the farm is also still a working farm having traditional Lakeland Herdwick sheep and lambs, Hereford cattle, ponies, ducks and hens, goats and pigs.

The Holiday Cottage and Campsite have views looking down across the woodland valley, taking in Kirkby Pool which slowly meanders along the valley floor to join the Irish sea in the distance.  The sites are mainly grass, having a couple of hard standing sites, nice and flat.  There are streams, hills, woodlands plenty of room to explore, dogs to walk or simply sit and enjoy this simple relaxed rural retreat.  Campfires are permitted, firelighters, kindling wood can be bought from the farm.

For those who would like to come and stay but who are not campers, the farm also offers the Old Moss Side Farm House, which is now a very comfortable Holiday Cottage which sleeps up to 8 people and has a hot tub too!  Also the Little Lakeland Bunk House which sleeps 6 along with 4 Rail Cabins which sleep 4 per cabin.

Moss Side Farm is great for walkers of any age.  We have several foot paths leading right from the farm.  One takes you down the old railway line (now disused) and leads you right to the village of Broughton in Furness, it takes about 35 mins, where you will find the village bakery, butcher, grocer post office, pubs and cafes.  Another path takes you up and over into the next valley of Broughton Mills where the Blacksmiths Arms is situated, great little Lakeland pub, delicious food.

 

Walks, hikes, Mountains, valleys, Lakes, Woods, quaint villages, and beaches along with Castles, Museums, a Safari Park, numerous National Trust houses, it’s all here!

Unfortunately we DO NOT ACCEPT children UNDER the age of 13 (except in the holiday cottage) Please bear this in mind if you're travelling with with Children.
